The HB EPIC RE-MASTERED
The HB Epic was a benchmark of performance over 10 years through the 90’s and into the 21st century. In that time it evolved via team test riding producing design improvements in a board that could still stand tall in this modern age. However, like so many standards, the original Epic’s values were lost in the aggressive and forever demanding market place of our new age time zone.
The Team Think Tank developing HB’s 2011 bodyboard range were looking to add something super solid, a classic board, something that today’s riders would enjoy and respect. It’s not easy to re-invent a classic. The TTT, led by James Kates, came up with the goods. By stripping away aggressive deck contours and exotic colourways and by reviving traditional clean lines in the subtle template with sharp colour combos, the boys have re-mastered a masterpiece.
For the re-birth to come full circle, chips were called in and footage collected of the original HB Epic test pilot, Rod Owens. The tough cuts have been fused with effortless Katesy performance. The result? A mad little clip. Times change, riders come and go, but never forget roots and the boards that make it all happen. ONEHISTORY
